The route starts next to the Rabaçal intake chamber (ER 105) and leads the walker along the Levada do Paul II to Estrada do Rochão, over a distance of approximately 1,200 metres (2,400 metres round trip).
With the theme “A path for everyone”, this walking route was prepared to ensure accessibility to all people, including those with mobility impairments, allowing a peaceful stroll in direct contact with nature.
Along the route you can see, to the south, the extraordinary landscape typical of the municipality of Calheta, where the terrain morphology formed by ridges, small ridges and humps stands out. The Levada do Paul II originates in the Ribeira do Juncal (basin of the Ribeira da Ponta do Sol), and together with the Levada do Paul I (also known as Levada do Alecrim) its purpose is to supply the Rabaçal intake chamber, with the water then conveyed in a pipe to the Calheta hydroelectric power station for electricity generation.
